Scripture and Conscience in Human Life

Conscience, as a factor in moral decision-making, captures the interest of disciplines such as psychology and philosophy. In what way or ways is the biblical view of conscience different from the psychologist’s or the philosopher’s? Is conscience autonomous? Is conscience a guiding authority or is it a critical authority? Does the conscience need nurturing? These and many more questions are addressed in this article.
