About 40 scholars and administrators attended the Biblical Research Institute Committee on October 17 and 18, 2011, at Andrews University. The papers read and critiqued dealt with the Sabbath and the message and mission of the church. In addition the papers Proposed Procedures of the Fundamental Beliefs Review Committee and Theology of Ordination Study Process were distributed and discussed.2011

“Issues in SDA Theology” was the course Gerhard Pfandl taught for the Adventist University of Africa on the campus of Babcock University in Nigeria. 74 students from the West-Central Africa Division African attended the course at the conclusion of which they presented their lecturer with the traditional garment of a Nigerian chief.

In August, Ángel Rodríguez, Kwabena Donkor and Clinton Wahlen visited Spicer Memorial College in Pune, India for discussions related to the establishment of a Biblical Research Committee that would serve the Southern Asia and Southern-Asia Pacific regions. The Ellen White Research Center of the Peruvian Union University had invited to a weekend about the Prophecies of the Apocalypse, and people came by the hundreds. Presenters were Dr. Merling Alomia, Dr. Norman Gulley, Dr. Larry Lichtenwalter, and Dr. Ekkehardt Mueller. Not only were the meetings extremely well attended during the weekend, but on Monday more than 400 ministerial students gathered for additional meetings.
